Siberian Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is one of the world's favorite and time-honored herbs. It is a thorny shrub, commonly attaining a height of 6-9 feet, found in forests of broad-leaf trees. The plant produces both male and female forms; black, oval berries, and a woody root.
